Wisp is a four-season resort located in the panhandle of western Maryland in the Allegheny Mountain Range on Marsh Mountain, which reaches 3,080 feet at the summit. It is the only ski area in Maryland and is adjacent to the state's largest inland freshwater lake -- Deep Creek Lake.
The 23 slopes and trails total 14 miles on 80 acres of skiable terrain. The Possum Trail is the longest trail at just over 1.5 miles. For snowboarders, Wisp has Maryland's only half pipe measuring 400 feet long. Squirrel Cage and The Face are the most popular trails at Wisp.
